The University Academic Planning Council considered and recommended these
formal academic actions and changes related to academic programs:
Majors and Degrees
Preliminary Entitlement to Plan
Ratified the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee's approval
of an entitlement to plan a Doctor of Audiology in the Communicative Disorders
department.
Authorization to Implement
Ratified the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee's approval
of an authorization to implement a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition (an
inter-departmental program in the College of Letters and Science).
Joint Review
Ratified the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee's approval
of the joint review and continuation of the M.S. and Ph.D. program in
Geological Engineering, College of Engineering.
Phased-out
Discontinued the undergraduate
major History of Culture (History Department, Letters and Science).
Discontinued
the undergraduate major “Dietetics” in the College of Agricultural and
Life Sciences and associated the CALS degree “BS-Dietetics” with the major
“Nutritional Sciences”.
Discontinued the MS in Recreation
Resources Management (CALS).
Renamed/Restructured
Ratified the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee's approval
of renaming the M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology to Molecular
and Environmental Toxicology.
Ratified the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee's approval
of renaming the M.S. and Ph.D. in Oncology to Cancer Biology

and Natural Resources).
Discontinued the 1992 articulation
agreement between the UW-Madison School of Nursing and the Madison-Area
Technical College program in Nursing.
