Retention and Graduation Rates for Undergraduates
Retention and graduation rates are calculated for students in the new freshmen cohort and for sub-groups of the new freshmen cohort. Tabulations include retention rates for to the second, third, and fourth year, and graduation rates after four, five, and six years. Retention and graduation rates are tabulated using the same format as for the retention/graduation rates presented in the Data Digest.
For the fall 2010 entrance cohort of UW-Madison new freshmen, nearly 94% returned to enroll in the fall of 2011. For the fall 2005 entrance cohort, nearly 83% graduated within 6 years or less.
