NOTES: Includes 8 female and 12 male faculty transferred from UW Extension in 1985. Excludes 5 men and 6 women faculty who were still on probation as of September 1997. The category "No affiliation" refers to those who had a choice of divisional committees (e.g., HIstorians may choose either Social Studies or Humanities) but had not formally chosen one before leaving UW. For this table, any individual who has received tenure prior to September 1997 is considered promoted to tenure (including those who may have more than seven years on the tenure clock). If an individual is hired effective after June 1 (e.g., June 84 for summer session), he/she is shown as hired in the following fiscal year (e.g., hired during 1984-85).
